There is truly nothing in the world like these promo trips! Why? Well we all get split up to cover as much ground as possible, and when I say ground I mean PBS stations.
PBS is a truely unique product of American community. Its something, I feel every community should be proud of. To think that these stations are run predominantly on peoples donations is incredible. We recently visited one in Pennsylavania and were told that their funding for 2010 had been cut by 90% and that they expected the rest to go too....................
Hello,
In PA today, at a Mall heading for the Wilkes Barre PBS station for this evening.
Target are still not carrying "It's Entertainment" unfortunately. Would help for people to request it in every Target store they go into, might encourage them to stock it.
Station visits still going well, thankfully!
Sharon
So far, so good. The PBS stations seem to be getting a great reaction to "It's Entertainment".
The guys East, West and in the Middle are doing a great job with these live pledges.
It's interesting to see how much more polished and confident they all are now compared to 3 years ago.
We're having a lot of fun doing them and the guys are having a laugh with the presenters and the volunteers at all the stations too.
HI all. The Station visits going very well. We could never do it without the support of Public Broadcasting. It’s nice to speak to some of you on the phone when you make your pledges. Ryan and myself are in San Francisco and really looking forward to doing something with the morning off. We travelled here through the night on the tour bus. Great way to travel once you get used to “Rockin’ ‘n’ Rolin’” through the night. I hear the others are doing well on the other side of the country. It’ll be good to meet up with them next week. I find it hard to call this “Work” but don’t let Sharon know.
Hello,
Live pledges seem to be going really well across the country, and we are having a lot of fun.
Keith, Neil and I have done CT, MD, NJ and Boston. We're doing NY tomorrow so we came back tonight to NY, nice to sleep in my own bed for a few hours!
Thank you all so much for the support of your local PBS stations and Celtic Thunder, neither could survive without that support.
It's much appreciated.
Sharon
Hello,
Another good night, pledging went well for the stations in Maryland, Florida & Washington tonight,
Really enjoying the promo tour, having a laugh along the way too.
Thanks to all our fans for supporting us and watching the PBS special!
Regards
Sharon
Just leaving Connecticut now,
Keith and Neil did well, nice station CPTV, friendly people, met some fans answering the phones, good night.
Ryan and George still on live over in KCTS9 in Seattle, going well I hear though.
Hope everyone is enjoying seeing the new "It's Entertainment" show on TV this week and that it proves popular and leads to a successful tour.
Off to the next one!
Sharon
Hello,
All sorts of dramas, Ryan and George's flight was cancelled as it couldn't take off yesterday from the USA to go to Ireland to fly back today.
Ger (great girl, our travel agent) pulled all sorts of favours and got them out on an Aer Lingus flight to Chicago and on to Seattle so they will be there!
Jean's flight was cancelled out of Newark to meet them, so she drove to JFK but most there were cancelled, currently not answering her phone so hoping she got on a flight in the end.
Keith and Neil arrived safely to the snow in NY and we head off tomorrow to Reading I think.
Hi Guys.
Well it's that time again, PBS time!!
Apart from Chicago it feels like an eternity since we have done PBS visits. The last time was back in June 2008....i think!
And that was as hectic as it comes with Myself, Paul and Keith on the west coast. Great memories though
So me and Paul fly out on Saturday morning, i have no real idea were we are going, lol!!i think florida is on the horizon but I just go with the flow
I cannot wait to get back out again though, i have had my taste of home now, and i am ready for work
Well that's IE well and truly out there and the promo trip is coming at us like train. My thought in November when we all came home were, (Three months off, it will be great to have all this time with my family). Where has it gone? The time has been great but it's not good for you to just be at home all the time. The bonding i've done with Sarah has been out of this world, We've both become the best friends in the world (Not that we weren't best friends already).
