Bono Busking on Grafton Street, Dublin - Christmas Eve - December 27, 2009
There is (aside from every man in Dublin doing his Christmas shopping that day) a pub crawl on Grafton Street on Christmas Eve.
Also, there are always buskers for Charity. For the Simon Community (look after the homeless). It's a great tradition and I've been there many a year and any artists in town usually join in.
This year, Bono, Glen Hansard and Damian Rice were amongst them. Here's a clip.
Bear in mind it is the Irish Males shopping for Christmas whilst on a pub crawl day in Dublin!

Looks like everyone was having fun!

All I can say is keep it up.
All I can say is keep it up. This blog is so necessary in a time when everyone just wants to talk about how many people someones cheated on their wife with. I mean, thanks for bringing intelligence back to the web, its been sorely missed. Great stuff. Please keep it coming!

Bono Busking on Grafton St. Christmas Eve 2009
What fun!! Thanks Sharon. (A far cry from our buskers in the subways-LOL)
awesome!
What a generous way for them to give on Christmas Eve, by raising Monday for charity, and such big names too! I had heard that Glen Hansard was planning to do this, and it's just great how others jumped right on board as well. Just wonderful!
Busking Grafton St.
LOL! Sharon,
Great fun on the street! Our men are the late shoppers as well, what's up with THAT? Bono is awesome, but I just LOVE Glen Hansard! "Once" is in my favorite top 10 movies' list!

Sharon where is Zara? On the short clip I didn't see her anywhere.

She may have hired new dancers for the new show. You might want to check Zara's website to see what she is up to for 2010

Ms. Sharon, I love that you
Ms. Sharon, I love that you spelled DamiEn Rice's name the way we spell our Damo's.
No need to worry! If there's a will, there's a way!
If the luckiest day of the year is really going to be lucky, it will include tickets to a CT show. D
whoa
Irish... males... shopping... Christmas Eve... pub crawl... Bono...?! my goodness! Any combination of that is interesting, let alone all of them at the same time!
Thanks for the link Sharon.
Thanks for the link Sharon. It is very cool for artists to perform like that to raise money for charity just on the spur of the moment. It did look as if everyone was having a great time too even in the cold.
Cool!
I didn't recognize the name Glen Hansard, but I finally thought to myself, "That's the guy from that movie with the one word title ........ Once! That's the guy from Once!" And it is!
People singing "Darling, stand by me, oh stand by me ..." reminded me of this graph:

Thanks, Sharon! That was great.
Grafton st
Went to Grafton St when in Ireland last July & saw many street performers but none as famous as those guys. It was great none the less. Very cool & especially because they were doing it for the homeless.
Wow.. how amazing!!! Thanks

That is a really awesome way to give back to the community. I know it is something we haven't seen or heard about before this year. It is really cool to see to artists out playing for free on the streets like that.
