GEORGE

Hi all in the Thunder Pub. I'd like to say THANK YOU to all of you for being so supportive in all that you've done to help create such an enjoyable and successful tour for me and the rest of the lads. We all Know that none of it would have been possible without the support of the Celtic Thunder fans. And i have to thank you also for the many gifts received along the way, they were much appreciated. The 9 weeks in the States and Canada were out of this world, They just seemed to have flown by. I'm glad i'm back home with my family, i missed them when i was away but they've been very understanding and know it's all part of the job to be away. we are in the studio at the moment putting final touches to the new CD to be released soon. It has also been great to hear so many kind comments about the new songs in the Spring tour. I'm glad 500 miles has gone down so well. I'll try to be in the "PUB" a bit more now that i'm back in Scotland. Thanks once again, and keep in touch, George.

Hi Everyone!

Thought I'd drop in and say "hello". As some of you may have heard I decided to spend a few days extra in Vancouver and New York before I came back home. It meant flying out of Vancouver on Sunday morning. This was great as it gave me a few days to explore what I had been told was a beautiful city - and I certainly wasn't disappointed. It truly is stunning.

However, the journey to New York wasn't quite as inspiring!! I had to fly to New York via Denver, which, although a bit of a hassle, wasn't totally awful. Well, not obviously until the kind people at the airline decided to cancel my flight to Newark....for no apparent reason! Cue a few hours of panic and desperation as I tried to work out how I was gonna walk with 3 cases from Colorado to New York when lo and behold, I was able to squeeze onto another flight to Laguardia airport instead. As great as this was, my cases decided they'd rather stay in Denver and check out the city for a day and catch up with me on Monday afternoon instead. Which meant I had to purchase some emergency clothing on Sunday night in any shop I could find open in NYC. Let's just say, most of that "temporary wardrobe" hasn't made it to the Emerald Isle!!

In saying all this, New York was great though. I got to meet up with a few friends and even caught a couple of Broadway shows - Chicago and The Lion King - which were pretty spectacular and, of course, get a couple of my obligatory runs through Central Park - I love the place!!

I flew home from NYC on Weds night and arrived straight from the airport on Thursday morning to the studio, where Phil was busy getting the new tracks laid down for the forthcoming CD with George and Dave Cooke. Keith had been in the day before and Damian was due that evening, with Paul coming later in the week - the "Celtic Thunder Production Belt" was in full force!!! The tracks are obviously the new tracks we performed on the Spring Tour, plus a few extra surprises which I'm sure you'll enjoy hearing! I'm not gonna give too much away, but there's a new track in there that Phil has written for me which, from the first time I heard it, I can't get out of my head - which is always a good sign!!

So now I'm finally home and get to recharge the batteries for a little while. Some of the lads are planning holidays or are actually away already. I've nothing planned yet, I'll see what the schedule is first, but may get away later on in the summer. In the meantime, I'm trying to get my bodyclock back to Irish time - which isn't easy! Plus, my beloved Celtics have given up their crown, so there's no need for me to be staying up to the small hours of the morning to follow their progress. Ah well, maybe next year again when KG comes back. I think LeBron and the Cavs look pretty unstoppable this year anyways and deserve a shot at the title.

For the summer now I'll be working away on my own stuff in the meantime. It's good to be able to sit down with the guitar again and get writing a bit more. It's one of the things I miss on tour because we're kept so busy with everything else.

As I always sign off these updates or "blogs" I suppose I can call them now, again I want to thank you all for your continued support. I do feel that, by every show and every day, we're gaining more and more fans and a lot of this credit must go to you all - the Street Teams Leaders, the bloggers and anyone really who even does so much as introduce a friend, a work colleague, a neighbour - even someone you don't like!! - to our music and our show. You are helping us grow. And, especially in these challenging economic times, we need this support to keep our show getting bigger and better so that we can be on the road - together with you all - for a long time to come.

Thanks for making the tour again so special and don't worry, I'll keep you all updated as to how things are going, how the new show is taking shape and what we're all up to when we're not across the water!

Take care for now,

Ryan x

Thanks!

Evening All,
Tour went great. Have to say it was my first time touring across Canada and the people and audiences were lovely.
Am busy in an edit suite now in Canada editing the new PBS special for their June pledge coming up.
It's called "CELTIC THUNDER - TAKE ME HOME" and there will be a new DVD and CD of it available from PBS during the June pledge and at retail from 14th July.
I filmed the live show in Casino Rama in Canada, loads of new songs in it. And the CD will have all new songs including 5 new songs the guys are busy recording this week in Ireland that were not in the show or in the TV show or DVD.
So, we are all keeping busy keeping Celtic Thunder new and fresh.
Regards and thanks to all our fans, moderators, street team members for all their work and support.
