Back in my own bed for a night - March 3, 2010
Hello,
Live pledges seem to be going really well across the country, and we are having a lot of fun.
Keith, Neil and I have done CT, MD, NJ and Boston. We're doing NY tomorrow so we came back tonight to NY, nice to sleep in my own bed for a few hours!
Thank you all so much for the support of your local PBS stations and Celtic Thunder, neither could survive without that support.
It's much appreciated.

By the time this is written
By the time this is written it will be after midnight and I will be preparing for my second night back in my own bed. I think everyone, however comfortable other people's beds are (and all the beds I've slept in whilst I've been away have been supremely comfortable I'm pleased to report), is happy when they climb back into their own bed after being away.

couple who sleep separately
couple who sleep separately are seen as a failure, because people assume the intimacy between them has died. But, if they’re honest, how many married couples really feel like being intimate on a midweek work night? What you want more than anything when you get in on a Wednesday is a good night’s sleep.

Jumping in on the CD
Once again, I just have to say that IE is my favorite CD so far. If the guys did more CD's like that, I wouldn't love them any less.
As I said, even though there is 'Celtic' in Celtic Thunder, it's nice to get a break from traditional Irish music every once and a while.
So, yeah, I wouldn't pay too much attention to negative comments, since the rest of us were VERY happy with this latest CD and DVD.
And I can't wait to watch the PBS show tonight! YAY!!!
Atlanta PBA 30
Great vibes from volunteering for phone bank at ATlanta's PBA30 March 2. No snow or ice problems for 9 CT Fans who braved the elements and drove home in the wee AM hours. CT fans are the nicest people and Alicia and Kevin with PBA 30 are a really classy duo as is the other guy whose name I didn't get. Such fun with Amy, Katie and Kate (younger CT fan volunteers), explaining Paul's and Keith's hilarious quips to Kevin and watching his interest grow as he (wearing a Keith Island-style leather cap)learned of "our" CT lads and what a wonderful comraderie they share and how they slag each other. Think Paul and Damian will be there March 10 and I cannot wait to see them March 11 when GPB (Ga PBS in my hometown) airs the show with Paul and Damian in the GPB studio March 1!. It was so worth driving alone for the last hour and a half during the wee hours of the AM. Northwest and Southeast areas of Greater Atlanta Metro did get the snow and had to cancel. Kudos to Susan Edwards for arranging for us to get to volunteer. Thank yous and blessings on you, Sharon, and Phil and your families forever.
IE DVD
hi sharon. when i watched IE for the 1st time, i was a little disappointed, and said as much, but now, after watching it again, i do owe you and the guys an apology. it is really a great dvd. i think that it is just so differant from the 1st two,and they are the ones that made me fall in love with the guys, celtic music, and ireland, from the beginning.this new dvd does give the guys the chance to shine and show how versatile they are. oh yes, and i am so glad keith finally "got the girl".caroline was awesome, "just like jessie james" was smoking!neil did a great job on "hallelujah" with ryan and keith. i am glad he got the chance to do it. he was great on the other two, and josh groban (spelled wrong probably) has nothing on paul! pauls' version of "you raise me up" makes me cry everytime!i am glad that you included "ireland's call" as the finale .made me realize that you won't let the guys get too far from their wonderful heritage, even as they branch out and try new things.great job everybody! sorry i was a little slow in warming up to this dvd, but now that i have, i am truly enjoying it...... when's the next one? lol
Sharon - Thank you
Sharon - I just wanted to say thank you for listening to CT fans.
I am listening to the Indianapolis PBS pledge break and they were discussing the concert coming up. Beside the fantasic IE songs, it sounds like we will also get the Celtic songs we all love.
I am excited to say I have tickets and meet and greets for Indinapolis and tickets for Chicago as well.
Thank you and I hope the rest of the tour is successful
It's Entertainment
I've been a Celtic Thunder fan since the first time I heard them on public TV about three years ago, and now they're my favorite group! However, I have to say that I was very dissapointed in the new CD, and I know a lot of other fans feel the same way. The songs were gorgeous, and some were extremely fun. However, I was really saddened by the lack of celtic-sounding music. There was a good amount of this kind of music on the first three, in addition to more pop music. However, it was the celtic music I loved the best, and the fact that a popular group was keeping this music performed in the U.S. as well as in Ireland. I just hope this CD was a one-time thing, and that I can look forward to more wonderful Irish tunes in the future! I know you're busy, but if you got a moment to just post what the group is planning to do in this area, I would appreciate it a ton!
Congratulations on the success you've acheived in this group! Please tour in Des Moines, IA soon!
CD Suggestions
Hi Sharon - I know you're very busy right now..something to think of - would you and Phil consider doing a couple of CD's - one with Celtic Thunder Mellow and Celtic Thunder Upbeat? I love to have some relaxing time just listening to the lovely mellow songs. I'd love to put them all together....then, when you're in an upbeat mood or want to play some upbeat songs for a party...the upbeat songs would be great!! Just a suggestion. I must say what Phil has done with these songs and the guys is just amazing!! So great!
Putting the songs on my
Putting the songs on my computer and making my own mix CDs is great for this...
Pledge Drives
Hi Sharon,
Glad to hear all is going well. When I called my local PBS station to find out when IE was going to air the lady in charge of their pledge drive said she was trying to get Celtic Thunder back to South Bend Indiana for another appearance during the fall tour. She said she hadn't gotten confirmation yet. Oh please, please, please come back so I and my family can attend a live concert!!!!!!! I think you should contact the University of Notre Dame (ya know--The Fighting Irish)about the fella's getting a tour of the campus. It is beautiful in the fall. Have a chance to see the Golden Dome and touchdown Jesus on the library wall facing the stadium. I have a feeling the guys would really enjoy it!!!!
Well I will be tuned in on Wednesday evening March 10th at 8:00 to see IE and make my pledge on WNIT channel 34. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR KEEPING US UP ON HOW THINGS ARE GOING. I'M ON THE WEST COAST AND SAW RYAN AND GEORGE ON PBS IN SEATTLE, THEY DID A GREAT JOB. WILL BE GETTING TICKETS FOR THE PORTLAND SHOW THIS FALL. CAN'T WAIT.
Thank You, Sharon!!
I saw a few places that folks said UNC-TV-Research Triangle sold out of MGs for the Durham concert which will be on 11/17. GOOD NEWS - thanks to Sharon Browne, WTVI will be selling MGs for the Durham concert as well on their station Wed, 3/10 at 8 pm. Also, the information will be posted on www.wtvi.org this week. I believe the MGs are 200 or 225 each. PLEASE support WTVI-Charlotte with this pledge drive...there isn't a concert scheduled in Charlotte because the promoters have not been able to book/find a venue. WTVI is pulling a lot of things together to make this happen for CT, CT FANS & working feverishly on this. *****
As always, the place to get questions answered is via www.pbs.org

Thank you Sharon-Boston visit was wonderful!
Sharon what a treat to meet you as well as Keith and Neil at WGBH in Boston! We had a memorable day, and we can't thank you enough for Celtic Thunder and the magic that the music and these six great performers bring to us and to our daughters! Keith and Neil were, sweet, polite and so good-natured, and it was such a gift to hear them sing live in front of us! We definitely will remember this always! Can't wait for October!

Keith and Neil on MPT!
Sharon,
LOL!
Then the woman asked the same thing to Keith about Neil and he said "Well, Neil, um......He stole 5 bucks from me!!!!" I waz laughing and crying even more!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!
Keith and Neil were on MPT (Maryland Public Television) and the woman asked Neil to tell her something nobody knows about Keith and Neil said "Um, well....He's a girl!!!!!" and I waz laughing so hard that I waz crying!!!
yay!
Glad everything's going well so far. I've heard fabulous things about the visit in Boston too! I've pledged for a ticket package through VPT - they are proud to be able to offer them. They told me they were sad they couldn't get a live visit of their own, but we all understand you can't be in 35 places at once
Looking forward to watching Keith and Neil on NHPTV on Thursday night though. Thanks for everything!
Pledge drives
Sharon, just had to pop on and say THANK YOU!!! We had a blast watching NJN the other night and will be watching WLIW tonight..All 5 kids were gathered around the TV and when Keith and Neil came on they were screaming at the TV like they could hear them..it was hilarious...but silence occurred when Neil was singing and 4 of 5 fell asleep listening to the show..How sweet is that??? Got our tixs for Atlantic City and will be taking the gang to West Point if that concert occurs..Thanks for making some venues very affordable..allows us to take all 7 of us.. again Thanks for everything and keep the Thunder rolling!!!

Hi Sharon
That is so awesome for ya ... nothing like the comfort of your ole comfy bed to rejuvenate you and give you renewed energy, eh?
I watched Sunday night's Maryland Public Television footage last night (recorded it since we were enroute to the studio at the time LOL) and just wanted to tell you that Keith and Neil did GREAT job! We couldn't hear much of the part of the interview that we were watching at the station prior to our volunteer stint but just were glad to finally be back in the studio. The hosts the night before were so funny especially Rhea ... she was absolutely bubbling with excitement! It was so funny to watch ... kinda like looking in a mirror of sorts! I forgot to ask you about an progress related to the guys possibly appearing on the Ellen Degeneres show? I've been sending emails to the appropriate contacts at the station but haven't heard any updates ... can you comment on that for us?
Have a great visit in NY and please thank Neil and Keith again for a lovely night!
I have a brand new appreciation for PBS after this weekend's volunteering opportunities ... SO MUCH FUN ... will be going back to help them out towards the end of the month! FYI ... IE will be rebroadcast on MPT March 11th and 17th @ 8 PM EST!
Thank you for everything you do for us fans!!!
Happy to hear that everything

I was thrilled yesterday to find that WGBH-Boston had the tickets for the October show on line -- even though they have yet to broadcast IE. We've ordered ours and are hoping for great seats. Thanks for coming to Boston -- look forward to Keith's and Neil's visit to New Hampshire tomorrow!

Sharon, you are an amazing woman. The guys sound better than the original artists. Now that' a compliment to them and you/Phil. Hope one day to see you all at a live concert.
