Station Visits - March 3, 2010
HI all. The Station visits going very well. We could never do it without the support of Public Broadcasting. It’s nice to speak to some of you on the phone when you make your pledges. Ryan and myself are in San Francisco and really looking forward to doing something with the morning off. We travelled here through the night on the tour bus. Great way to travel once you get used to “Rockin’ ‘n’ Rolin’” through the night. I hear the others are doing well on the other side of the country. It’ll be good to meet up with them next week. I find it hard to call this “Work” but don’t let Sharon know. Lovin’ the job. Speak soon.

When it comes to the station
When it comes to the station visit, it is much more important to not make a bad impression, than it is to make a good impression. Let me explain. Department personnel are more likely to be vocal about someone they perceive as a bad candidate, then someone they perceive as a good candidate.intelcpu
IE CD
hello george, i just got my companion cd to the IE DVD, and the song that you sing of Neil Diamonds, Hello Again"is just awesome.how i wish it were on the dvd! would really love to hear you sing another of his songs... "Sweet Caroline", and "Coming To America". i love it when the cameras show carrie and sarah at your shows when you are singing.the look on that little girls face as she watches you makes me want to cry. it is plain she really loves her daddy!carrie is so pretty. how do you stay away from them for long periods of time. it has to be very difficult.you are so blessed with such a nice little family, and we fans sure thank them for sharing you with us!you and the guys will be near me in Nov. in Atlanta, Ga.and i am praying for a miracle so i might get to see you.you guys are the best.
MAYBE AN ALL CELTIC SHOW?????
HI George, I can't wait until fall so that we can have you back in Detroit again! I wish you had a chance to be at the station here in Detroit when we saw the show. Have you guys ever thought about having an all Celtic show???? I've ask a lot of other fans what they thought and we all agree that it would be AMAZING. Got to wear kilts though, lots and lots of kilts!!! By the way, Paul and Damian leave very little to the imagination when they spin around, not complaining at all just tell them to put some sequins on their butts,I think it's cute. You guys have all become so comfortable in your roles and your performances on stage now. Everyone is so proud of you guys. Doesn't that sound odd? Not sure why you guys are different but you have a fan base that thinks of you as family. We've watched you from the start and we are so proud of every thing you do. You were fantastic in your first show but now you just seem to BE what you sing and do. We want to see you acomplish everything you want to do and get everything your hearts desire. Maybe it's because you have such a diverse fan base. Well whatever reason, if you need a kidney don't hesitate to let us know.
You have no idea how much all of your fans would love that Celtic show. America is truly insanely in love with Scotland and Ireland, always has been. There is a lot of us here in the USA, We Scot/Irish people seem to breed well:)My whole family is planning a trip to Ireland, Scotland and Germany for two years from now. (Got a lot of saving to do!!!!)My dad was 100% German and mom was 100% Irish. Well take care and hug the family for all of us. I'm sorry Sara lost her grandpa so early. It's hard on kids to lose someone they love. It's rough on all of us but they don't have the skills to cope yet. When my dad died my youngest grandson said he still saw grandpa in the house and talked to him all the time. Was he there or was it just a way to cope? Don't know, just give her a lot of extra love.
Take care,we're all here for you and the other guys. Need us,just blog!
PS love love love the Neil Diamond on the cd! Wow you can really do an amazing job of "Hello Again" I've never heard anyone do one of his songe so good. I think his songs might be difficult for most singers, BUT NOT YOU !!!WOWxxoo
Look for the small signs
I know much of the talk about losing loved ones has stopped, but I think some of you might like what happen to me on the day of my mother's birthday this spring, on March 11th. she passed away 5yrs. ago.
Yesterday would have been my mom Birthday, she would have been 87, I miss her alot.
I think I was sent a gift yesterday, my mom always liked to hear the birds sing,
she knew most of the birds by their songs. Like the red cardinal song was "pretty-pretty-pretty!"
I believe the cardinal was one of her favorites. Yesterday I went to set outside with my camera,
for no real reason, (i like to take pics.) and what do I see a bright red cardinal (male of course!!)the same bird I have been trying to get a picture of!! ( males are flighty!) There he was setting pretty and long enough for me to take some pictures.
Moms
I know how you feel, my mom passed away a little less that a week before Thanksgiving last year. She had so many birds and squirrels in her yard! I'm pretty sure she made most of them diabetic from all of the cookies. They are so fat that they barely make it across a road without getting hit. They still come to the door and knocking for food,HONEST!! They try a couple of light knocks and scratches and if that doesn't work they go all out and hang on the window or door screen and screaching until a cookie arrives. I miss her so much, one night she just didn't wake up,when the nurse found her in the morning she had passed away in her sleep with a small smile on her face. She loved to sneak off just to prove she could,I think she had quite a laugh sneaking away one last time. A beautiful blue eyed Irish lass to the end.

Condolences
You have my sincerest condolences on the loss of your Father-in-law. I, myself, lost my Mother of 85 years of age on Feb. 28th this year. It will take time and as I was told when my father passed away 33+ years ago, time heals all wounds. At least you have each other as well as all of your family to help you through it. Remember the good times and it will make it easier and take it one day at a time.
I enjoyed the PBS pledge drive programs that you all did in the last 2 weeks and good Lord willing, I will be at the show here in Atlanta in November. I found out my half-sister has gotten very interested in Irish music and she had never heard of you lads. I told her to check you all out and try to get to the show in October in Indianapolis. I hadn't talked to her for a long time and it was very suprising that about the same time we both started investigating our Irish roots.
Keep up the good work & I will keep your family in my prayers.

I am glad that you had a great time watching the Super Bowl, this past year. Frankly, I am glad that the Saints won! I used to live in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area, a long time ago. Of course, my first choice would have been the Dallas Cowboys. Try dallascowboys.com for tickets to next year's Super Bowl, and hopefully, the Cowboys will be in that game and will win it for a change!
Sorry about the loss of your cat, Harry. I am glad that you still have Molly though!
Earlier, this decade, my family lost two dogs: Noodles and Rambo. So, I know the feeling.
By the way, I saw some of the various PBS interviews that you and various members of Celtic Thunder did, for Public Broadcasting Systems-Television. They were really good! Anyway, I liked all three Public Broadcasting System Specials Celtic Thunder did! I hope you all do more of them soon!
Frankly, I love to hear the British, when they mimick our Texas accents: whether the speaker is Irish, Scotish, English, Welch, Cornish or York. Frankly, I think that some of the British comedies are better than today's American comedies! I love hearing the different British accents.
By the way, are there any British playing in the National Football League? Don't the British call our football here, American football? Best Wishes, and Cudos! Ebensberger.

My Sincere Condolences to you, Carolyn & family
My father passed away almost 4 years ago but it seems like just yesterday. (that is why the song, The Old Man means so much to me.) A poem that really helped me was the following and I hope it brings some comfort to Carolyn and the family.
God saw as you were getting tired
A cure was not to be
So he wrapped His arms around you
And whispered 'Come with Me.'
With tearful eyes
We watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands laid to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Thank You
Hi George,
Hope you and the guys have a safe, fun-filled and successful tour. I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed your performances. I lost my DA to Lung Cancer and "The Old Man" tears me up. Thanks for having the courage to perform it.
I particularly enjoy the way you take command of the stage - no fanfare, no stress, no strain, you just appear larger than life and with your easy way you get to the hearts of all those who are lucky enough to see and hear you.
Thanks for touching my life.
Marianne
Prayers are with your wife and family
There are a lot of people that have lost their Fathers, and I know that feeling very well. I was a Daddy's girl and I find my self still wanting to see him when I open the door to their house and feel his arms around me. I don't care how old you are it still hurts so much, but you do get better with God's help and move on,but you never forget.
I pray for comfort and peace
Sincere sympahty
George and Family
I want to express my sympathy in the loss of your father-in-law. The older we get the more we appreciate our parents and loved ones. I'm sure he had a good life and hope that comforts Carrie and you at this time.
Last night was CT It's Entertainment's first show here in North Texas on PBS (Dallas), and your street team did a great job answering the phones on pledges. The show was well received. I have viewed the show MANY times as I preordered several sets of the DVD and CD. Look forward to seeing you all again in November - can't wait.
Carrie's Dad
George - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hope you can go home to be w/ your sweethearts.

so sorry
George...my thoughts are with you, Carrie, Sarah and the rest of your family as you go through this difficult time. I hope your father in law went peacefully and without pain. I also hope you can get back to your family as soon as you can if you're not already there. You're such a pivotal part of the CT family and you know we all feel saddened by the news. Take care and give Carrie our thoughts.
Best regards,
Kathe

visit to QVC
Spoke with Keith on Sunday. Contacted Martin Guitars to see about tour. He and Neil tried, but they are closed on Saturdays. You can contact them at 610-759-2838 They are in Nazareth, PA. Maybe about an hour from QVC in Westchester where you will be on St. Pat's Day. They would be happy to give a factory tour, I am sure.
Hope you enjoyed the sweet biscuits I took to Camden. Will load you all up with more goodies when you are in the area again. Told Keith the two old ladies will always feed the lot of you! megan
PBS "It's Entertainment"
How awesome of a show!!! I enjoy seeing the interaction of Celtic Thunder with the audience and with each other...Thanks for lending a hand to Public Broadcasting!
Entertainment show on PBS WLIW 3/3/10
Hi ya George just wanted to quickly shout out to you and the other lads that my daughters and I watched the public broadcasting airing of your latest show.. Randomness
So, i am kinda writing on everyone's blog cause honestly it seems like a fun thing to do and yours might just make more sense then damions did cause i was just coming off of a caffiene thing, so like i said to him you dont have to understand this and if you do i will be thouroughly impressed cause not even my teachers can do that. and i shall repeat for you... i am quite normal, sometimes, maybe, nevermind with that. you might hear(read) alot from me because just today i learned how fun blogging to people you dont really kno can be. hope i wont be too much of a nuicence.
Best wishes and kindest regards OliviaMarie
up comming tours
I watched you last night 3/3/2010 they mentioned a concert on 10/28/2010 at the warfield in san francisco I have been trying to get some info on buying tickets. I can't seem to find any on ticketmaster or you celticthunder website. on your website the last tour update was in 2009 nothing for 2010. I went to a show in sacramento california a couple yrs ago now I am hooked everytime When I get an update in my email I listen and read every little detail. Could you have someone update the website. Maybe tell us where to get tickets.
Try PBS
I know with Celtic Woman's last tour they sold tickets through PBS first (before dates showed up on tickermaster, the official website, etc.). So, I'm assuming that's what Celtic Thunder is doing too. Give it some time and they'll have info on Ticketmaster, BUT if you want the best tickets possible... check with your local PBS that aired the show.

Hope that helps!
Good luck!
Alls Good...
Hi George..Good to see things are going well. It sure is different with seeing Keith and Neil on the NJN promo...just so use to seeing you and Ryan...Luved seeing them to,just like you and Ryan.. They were a comedy team...funny... Hope all the rest of the promos go great ...sure they will. QVC should be a blast...see you there...
Good times, Donna
Say "cheese"....
Just a quick observation...from a devoted CT fan in Ohio/USA: please, please don't pay attention to those critics that strongly object to the cameras sweeping across the audience during your shows. I love to watch the faces respond to performances, and it goes without saying that the adoring look on your Sarah's face is priceless! Please know that I thank your family for sharing you with the world and send the best of wishes to you and the lads for continued success in the days to come.
Sincerely, Betty, R.N.(Ret.)

Hi George!
Welcome back to the states...You know as well as I do it is because you love what you do that makes this promo trip so much fun. Knowing that you will be here for a short time until the tour starts later this year probably helps. I watched New Jersey PBS (NJN) with Neil, Keith & Sharon. It was so much fun and yes, they did a great job! Lots of laughs and great singing. Also, the host at PBS mentioned how much fun it was meeting you and Ryan on a previous promo trip. She said it was a great pleasure to meet you both. So, I know for a fact Keith, Neil, Sharon are holding up well. I'm sure you and Ryan are representing Celtic Thunder with great enthusiasm and great moments. I do however worry about Paul & Damian. I bet they are probably having more fun then they should!! LOL! Continued blessings and safe travel. Great to hear from you with the updates. P.S. when you speak with Sarah and Carrie, please tell them how thrilled we are to have you here with us and thanks for sharing!!
