Survey on Celtic Thunder - July 27, 2010

Hello,

The Record Company Decca Label Group have contracted an independent company to carry out a survey about Celtic Thunder.

It is anonymous, we only get to see the report at the end but it will help to get feedback from Fans as to what they like, what they don't and what they would like to see coming in the future.

The link to the survey is on the home page here on the website and there should be links going up on other networking sites like Facebook, MySpace etc.

Your co-operation and opinions would be most appreciated.

The survey was UNFAIR....asked for our favorite......only got one.....could have listed first through last...it's so hard to have a favorite, they are all great in their own right.....also songs.....there are so many favorites and what we want to see......my friends and I like the Celtic music, It's Entertainment grows on you, but some songs we can take or leave.....one of our least favorite on the other CD is Wichita Lineman, although Keith sings it great, it's not our favorite type of song, like the ones he sang on Celtic Thunder and Coming Home.....also some on It's Entertainment....we like each artist for different reasons.......signed up for the contest....have already ordered tickets for Hippodrome (haven't received them yet), and have tickets for Hershey and Atlantic City...when we saw it was Christmas, had to see it....wish they would sing 1915 on other shows.....wish we could see more of them....hopefully they will branch out, not just on PBS.....liked the interviews on It's Entertainment....reason I bought the DVD...

I took the survey. However, I also extremely disliked having to pick a favorite. I have a favorite, but am also afraid that the results will reflect unfairly on the others. I can't tell you how this leaves
a bad taste in my mouth, Sharon. I love Celtic Thunder as a group and my favorite member is purely a subjective opinion based on my age and personal preferences in music style...the others are great, too.
Shame on Decca or whoever put out the survey to not include an option to pick the group as a whole.

I was not able to complete the survey; it stopped at the question regarding my "favorite" member and would not continue. Seems like a good place for the thing to stop working, because I did not want to name a favorite anyway - I like them all!

I love "The Show" and "Take Me Home" on dvd. "It's Entertainment" is terrific, too; but maybe you could put a few more celtic songs and Phil Coulter's music on your next one, please.

Keep up the great work on matching the tunes to the individual members' personalities and voices. And please throw in some more of Phil's superbly arranged acappella choral magic.

I tried to complete the survey a couple of times.
The program insisted that I enter ratings for every show, dvd and album
even though I have not seen them all. Without this I could not move on to
the next screen. I could have lied, but eventually just let it go.

Looking foward to the Jacksonville show in November.

There are a lot of sad songs in that Celtic venue --- I will take more of the romance and songs like Doo Wacka Do............Standing on the Corner.........Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.

Hi Sharon!!!

Took the survey and LOVE what y'all have done! One question I had problems with was what would we like to hear the guys sing.....My girls and I CONSTANTLY talk about songs that we think they could do well....in the car....would really like to give you a list but I need to write them down....pls email or msg me! One I can come up with off the top of my head is George singing "Daddy's Little Girl" for Sarah. My Daddy sang that to me all the way through high school and it still makes me tear.

Really looking forward to this years show, the Christmas album and especially "Storm"!!

Thank You for giving us and our children something to enjoy together that they love and we don't cringe at. You'd be amazed at the fact that all 5 of mine sing and harmonize perfectly to it.....makes a Momma cry!

I find it interesting that this survey comes on the heels of Phil Coulter's Facebook defense of his and Sharon Browne's choices and reasons for doing It's Entertainment. Of course our opinions matter as they effect the bottom line, profits. The five, and I repeat five, original lads are a unique combination of voices that produce a perfect harmony. They project a feeling that they all truly enjoy what they do and enjoy each others' company. Why mess with success? I hope the lads will be recording as a group for many years to come as I truly enjoy their music. Let The Thunder Roll!!!

DITTO! CT is my favorite group and I love most of the songs they sing. I'm just very disappointed that Grand Rapids, Michigan was dropped from their tour and that I won't be able to see them in concert. Travelling 3 hours in winter weather to another city to see them would be chancey. I am bummed!

There seems to be one overwhelming consensus, concerning the "Survey". The question of picking our favorite. It seems no one felt good about having to do this. PLEASE,PLEASE, let the guys know. WE think CT success is due to the fact, they all bring so much individually, to the whole! If someone left, it just wouldn't be the same without him. There is definately something special about Celtic Thunder, though it's hard to pinpoint exactly where the magic lies. It could simply be a group of talented men, who like each other's company, and appreciate the good fortune in their lives... Nancy King

You have put together a wonderful mix of talent! Great survey but even though I love watching and listening to Ryan...at other times which ever one of the guys is curretly singing is my favorite!!! Paul is teaching me to appreciate his "opera voice" and the skill he has to cover all types of music. George is a hunk (in Texas that is a very good thing) and when he sings 500 miles I swoon. Keith is a little young for me but again what a voice & musicality also not hard on the eyes. And not to forget Damain...watching him "grow up", his voice changing and growing in depth of talent and range, has been fun. I hope his "big brothers" keep his feet on solid ground and he stays just as sweet as he seems. I often read the blogs just to keep up and have great craic (sp?) reading up on their adventures. LOL! Looking forward to seeing the IE show in November 2010!!

I was never really taken with Paul's voice until I heard "You Raise Me Up". LEVELED me! And my 5 yr old wigs out at "Doo Wacka Doo" STILL. First time she almost fell out of her chair onto a tile floor laughing. All the girls fight over Damian....and I also hope he stays grounded. Where in TX are you? The only problem I had with the survey is deciding on who my favorite performer is - ALL SIX!!!!! I have to say I love them all, love all the songs, and have absolutely no critique. Just keep it coming like it is and don't change anything. LOVE all the lads (but my husband told me that George is my favorite because I seem to mention his songs the most). I just make George's songs my ring tone for my husband's calls because they are so appropriate for HIM! However, I have a favorite song by all the lads. Love 'em!

I took the survey. I agree with others - I did not like the question to pick a favorite CT member. I love all 6 of them. I hope that picking one person does not reflect badly on the other 5 guys. Let them know how much their fans love all of them.

It's good to hear opinions, however I can find very little to dislike with any of the songs or guys. The Celtic music gives me the shivers (which is good) but It's Entertainment really shows the versitility of everyone. I have all of the CDs and DVDs and only dissatisfied with the DVD
"Take Me Home." All of the guys sounded and acted like they weren't feeling well at all and the camera shots and angles and sound were not as good as the other DVDs. I still watch it though but wouldn't give it to friends who had not seen or heard Celtic Thunder before. Could you cut some "live" CDs. It is always nice to hear the audience's response and feel the guys interaction with them. "Celtic Thunder" is really amazing and quite an uplifting group. Each of the lads are amazing each in their own way and really "blow everyone away" when they sing together. Thanks for everything.

I just completed the survey. On MySpace, we were getting notice that we had already completed the survey when we hadn't, and I wrote a comment to them. Within just a few minutes, it was fixed, and now I've done the survey.

It appears to me that it is out because there have been many complaints about It's Entertainment. So my response was that I like It's Entertainment, and I bought the DVD and CD, but I prefer 65% Celtic music (or traditional) music, and 35% other.

I have to say, it is truly wonderful to discover that there are professounal musicians in our world that are not divas (what is the male equivalent?) or druggies, or controversial, or out there to make a big splash in the tabloids. To all of the people in CELTIC THUNDER, thank you for producing a quality of music that I can be proud to take my children, my grandchildren, my friends, and family to at any time. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to their music many times. I am amazed that they care so much about what their fans think, and respond so positively to us. Can't wait to see you in Jacksonville!

Just took the survey. It was completely painless! Will do anything to help "our" boys!!! I left my zip code even though I KNOW I'm the only one from my town to take it. (I live in a TINY TINY town) but it was all good so I don't care if you know it's me. I love the guys and want the world to know it! I'm so eager to see the new show and absolutely love all the CT CDs and DVDs I own. Now if Heritage and the Christmas Albums could be on DVD too my world musically would be perfect.. till storm comes out then it will be absolutely perfect! Gotta run! Thanks Sharon!
