Summer Update - July 28, 2010

As you know it’s been a bit of a sad year for my family and myself but we are beginning to live with the loosing of my Mum and Carries Dad. I don’t believe you can ever get over it but we’re “Learning to live with it” as I’m sure that’s the way any parent would want it.

Anyway in other departments, it’s been wonderful to spend such a long time at home with my girls. I honestly don’t know where all the time has gone. I wonder how I found any time before when I had a day job. What with playing the flute, forever trying to improve my German (which is hard when you have no one to speak it with) and messing about with the piano (which i wish i could play). At the beginning of July we were all in the island of Corfu, which is one of the Greek isles. Very warm but at the same time nice and breezy at night, the best of both worlds. Sarah as ever made a few new best friends, As she says, “That’s the best reason to go on holiday” i had to add- That, the beach and the Swimming pool, the sunshine, the water parks, Dad can have a wee beer and eat too much, Mum can………….. you know where I’m going with this.

I’m off to the Isle of Barra next week. Which is a small island off the north west coast. What is it with me and islands? I’ve always wanted to do a gig up there. It takes 5 hours on the Ferry from a place called Oban and it takes 2 and a half hours by car to get to Oban from Glasgow……. and I’m still in Scotland!!! I could be in New York in that time, but I assure you it’s nothing like NY. I think that there are more sheep than people. I’ll be there for 5 days. I’m so looking forward to it.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about me recording a solo CD. This was something I had planned to be further ahead with but due to the sad developments this year a lot has been put on hold. Now that the Fall tour is looming it seems that there is not enough time until early next year. So fingers crossed that I get something done about it then. It will give me something else to concentrate on when I’m away from home on Tour. I’ll speak to you again soon and look forward to seeing you all in the Fall/Autumn.

Thank you from Arlington, TX!

Your show at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie, TX was awesome!! I've been to all of your concerts here in Texas and each one just gets better and better!! Maybe next year you can come to Grand Prairie for one of your Christmas concerts???? I know that there was a song included on your Christmas CD called "All I Want For Christmas Is You", and while that one is nice, there's another song by the same name that I would love to hear you sing. This version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" was done originally by Lisa Layne with Vince Vance and the Valiants and was a big hit - at least here in Texas. You have the perfect voice for that song and I believe it would be a wonderful addition to another Christmas CD by Celtic Thunder!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that you've had a difficult year. I pray that your Holiday season is joyful and that next year is filled with many blessings. Thank you, and Keith, Ryan, Paul and Damian all for sharing your beautiful voices and awesome talent with us all!

Thank You for a great show in Jacksonville on Sunday!

Just wanted to say, "Thank You!" for a great show in Jacksonville this past Sunday evening. My daughter and I had such wonderful seats! I especially wanted to say how we appreciated all the guys coming out after the show to sign autographs and do pictures. We didn't get to go to the M&M after the show in Orlando last year, so this year (getting pictures) was "icing on the cake"!

I don't know what Sharon did/said to you after the show (and after you had already been out once for photos) but we are surely grateful! You were SO KIND in coming out again! Just speaking with you for those few seconds TOTALLY made my day!!

With the thousands of fans wanting to meet/touch/talk with and take pictures with you ALL, I can only imagine how tiring this can be. BUT, FOR US, WE'RE REALLY GLAD YOU DID and weren't TOO tired for one last picture and a few words.....Thanks, 2 Forever Fans!

You and yours

George,

I am sorry that you lost 2 family members this year. It is always tough. Please pass my condolences on to Carrie. My mom is 91 so it will be part of my world soon I am afraid. Tell her a prayer is being said for her and all your family. She always seems so amimated when they show her at the concerts with your daughter. They are both very pretty.
I have been a fan since the onset of the group and have been to all the concerts here is Denver. This year I was able to attend the Meet and Greet and get a front row seat. That was nice. I was hoping you all would be able to come to the greeting session but was nice to meet Ryan and Paul. They are both amazing. Paul is a real character!!! I must admit I was hoping you would be one of our attendees. I want you to know, as a real fan, that I totally respect that you are married but still feel affection for you for the way you present a song, sing with passion and are dedicated to giving us, your fans, part of who your are. You have a very luck family and I thank Carrie for sharing you with the rest of us.
Can't wait till next tour. See u in Denver in 2011

November 21st in Jacksonville, FL

Hi George, This will be my first time seeing you in person and I can hardly wait. I think you are just awesome, sexy, handsome, talented and just all around gorgeous in that kilt. I will be very close to the front for this show and I can't wait for you to spin that kilt. I am bringing my 17 year old granddaughter and she thinks Keith is out of this world.
Sorry to hear about your mum, it is always hard, but the memories make it so much easier.
See you Sunday, the 21st.

Oops! Forgot this one...

John Prine's wonderful, wonderful song about ageing, "Hello in There." This was covered by numerous other artists, but if you've never listened to John Prine's own version of his song, trust me, you really should. It will move you to tears. You would do such a fabulous job with this one, George!!

Your future CD

Hi George -- if you're, indeed, thinking about songs to record one day, here are a few I think you'd do a marvelous job with: Billy Joel: "Piano Man." ; John Denver (so much to choose from): "You're So Beautiful," "Shanghi Breezes," "Sunshine on My Shoulder," "Dearest Esmerelda," "The Eagle and the Hawk,"
"Some Days are Diamonds," "Follow Me," "Goodby Again," "I'm Sorry,", "Islands;", "Leaving on a Jet Plane," "Looking for Space," "On the Road,". Dan Fogelberg: "Leader of the Band." Harry Chapin:
"Circle," "Dancin' Boy," "Dreams Go By," and "Tangled Up Puppet." Dougie McLean: "Feel So Near."
Your show in Denver last week was well-worth the 6+ hr. drive in a snowstorm my husband and I had to make, driving from high up in the Colorado Rocky mts. to get there. All the way there and back, we listened to the 57 CT songs I have on my I-pod, and that helped keep us relaxed on the scary drive. Here's an Irish blessing for you: "May the most you hope for be the very least you receive." God bless you, dear man, and keep you safe on the rest of the tour. Your fans in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

KC Show!

Hi George! Was wonderful to see you performing tonight in Kansas City. Listening to/seeing you and the CT 'lads' always does my heart good. The shows are just never long enough! I could listen to you guys 24/7.

Also want to thank you for the 'wave' you gave to me during "Still haven't found".(I was up and just to your right, the crazy one waving her arms and I think the only one in the arena dancing! LOL!) It made my night, maybe my whole year! Smile Don't know how I'm going to be able to sleep now! Laughing out loud

Love you guys, and hope you continue to come to KC year after year!! I can promise that I will always be there cheering. I hope you know how much joy CT brings to me and everyone that listens to you. Words just cannot say!
Oh, one more thing! How about the funny little bits of confetti that kept drifting down all through the show?! We were cracking up when Paul finally noticed it and started with his funny faces! Funny stuff!
Wishing you good luck tomorrow in STL! (wish I was gonna be there)
Luv, luv, luv y'all!!

your tour

Can not wait until Sunday in Minneapolis, I am introducing my daughter to your music by bringing her to your concert. I have just joined your web site but have enjoyed your music and have all your cd's. I am 60 years old and just love the way you harmonize and also your solos. I have to say you are my fav. You touch me with your song, " The Old Man" my father died at 90 in 2004, and can't listen to it without tearing up.
Sorry to hear about your Mother's recent death. Mine is 91 and I know that day too will come. I am sure she will be so happy when you do your solo album. I feel they look down on us. Smile
So hopefully will get to hear you sing that on Sunday afternoon.
I am of Irish heritage as well, and love to listen to you sing. None of you are bad to look at either, lol.
Looking forward to your concert. take care

Hershey, PA Concert

George,

What a wonderful time I had last night, 10-13-10 at the Hershey Theatre, watching and listening to the GREAT CELTIC THUNDER. I traveled from West Virignia, a little over a 6 hour drive, just to attend the concert. You guys are fabulous. Please let them know how much I enjoyed hearing all of you. Loved your new songs in the first half of the concert and especailly enjoyed the second part also.

My Mom

Hi George,

I am very sorry to hear about your mom, I almost lost mine 3 years ago.

My Mom's name is Lynn Bruce Lynn. She is a Breast Cancer survivor. I am bringing her to your show in Atlanta, Georgia, for her Birthday. (the 2:30 show) You all are her absolute favorite entertainers. If you or anyone could wish her a Happy Birthday, I know it would really make her happy.

Thank you in advance,

Courtney Lynn

Seeing your family

Hey George!! So thrilled for you that you got to see your family this weekend. Hoping you had a fantastic time. Thanks for being so wonderful at the meet and greet at Symphony Hall in Springfield. So happy we got to to chat with you about Joshua and his love of CT and for the "wink" you gave him at the Hartford show!!

Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us!!

souls rejuvinating

George, saw you tonight in Connecticut...I was thrilled to hear/see you lads again! I am so so sorry for you and your wife's lose. I have to say I was so pleased to see your smile tonight- you had quite a few that seemed in response to things other than the big picture, rather small nuances (sp?) that kept things genuine to me. My gal friends and I almost yelled "we love you George" at one point, but seeing how it put young "D" off earlier, I begged them off. The show was even better than I expected (having seen last year's in Torrington)You've strived to bring a truely balanced mix to this American audience. We come to hear your renditions of Celtic music, which is evidenced more than ever when you sing "Home" and the "Ireland" song!(Do you get as much out of that as we do?) But it is also a treat to hear the various artists in the group explore the 'american' cultural standards- right up to the new addition from Ryan when he 'ruled the world' (spot on!!) and your new U2 number. I would love to hear a Scotish focklore from you in the future; hope that you do get back to that soon.(miss the old man!) Again, nothing but happiness for you and yours!
Great job by you and the lads! Can't wait for next year!
Cheers!
P.S. What was that instrument played by our multi-talented whistle/guitar/percussion/bodhran player that looked like a cross between a bagpipe and a bassoon? Loved the timber... (who is that guy???? He's awesome! And Neil!!)

Thank you for the wonderful evening in Pittsburgh

I want to extend my heart felt sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your loved ones. I know how difficult it is.. I lost my beautiful Mum this year also.. It has been a tough year for me also. I recently had a knee replacement and in Nov. I will have a hip revision. Not fun...

I just wanted to thank you and the others for a fantastic evening at the concert in Pittsburgh. We have missed only the first concert and have been to all the others. They are all wonderful but each one is better than the one before. I hope you all are having another tour next year 2011. I promised my beautiful granddaughter, Veronica that we would take her then. She is 4 but she loves your music. She especially loves you. Thanks again George, you always bring light back into my heart.

love to all,
Patty G

Columbus concert- delightful!

Thank you, gentlemen, for a truly fun evening!
I got hooked on CT this summer (thank you WOSU)...borrowed your CD's from the library to hear more...for weeks have been listening to them in the car ... my daughters are now fans as well (ages 9,6,3), trying to sing along and bobbing their heads to the delightful Irish rhythms :-} They have also developed an interest in Irish culture so you have been "educational" as well. The littlest one favors "the scary man and the storm" - Heartland. and "Ragga, Tagga, Mipme". I've taken a liking to Castles in the Air and Come by the hills. Love the line there - "and the cares of tomorrow can wait til this day is done." Sounds good in English or Gaelic. My hubby surprised me with tickets for tonight's show - what a treat! Damian - what a voice. Keith, love the folksiness. Paul - you could be Jean Valjean in Les Mis. Ryan - fiesty! George- powerful. I had to own Act II. When will you record All Gods Creatures? SO FUN Much applause also for your instrumentalists. Not sure what some of those trinkets were, but love the sounds they made. Hubby got into the guitars, and the familiar pop songs. Perhaps I could convince him to wear a kilt? At least on St. Patricks day, as he does work in Dublin, OH?? Perhaps one day he'll surprise me with tickets to the real Dublin? Would be a delight.
May you have a pleasant day off, and safe travels to your next destination. Enjoy the many interesting and varied places in these great United States.
God's blessings to ya'll! JM

I know how you feel.

Dear Mr. Donaldson
I lost my granddaddy five months ago at 5:30 PM pacific time today. He passed on April 15 2010. I still miss him a hole lot and I am having a hard time getting used to him not being here. Give Sara a hug for me!

Your Prayer Warrior.
Niki.

So sorry for the losses your

So sorry for the losses your family has suffered. As you well know, you never get over them but you adjust and carry on.

Shortly after my father passed away I attended your concert at Radio City. Sitting in the front row when you sang The Old Man I totally lost it. That was a very special song between my father and me and your rendition is just the most beautiful version I have ever heard. Gets to me every time I hear it.

Looking forward to seeing you again at Radio City on 10/1.

Continued success to you and the rest of the ensemble.

Family Loss and your kids

George,

Losing family is just never easy, and so individual for each person. I just discovered Celtic Thunder on 8/17/10 when visiting my sister in Sacramento, CA. I love the group but especially you and what you sing. I bought the It's Entertainment CD two days later. When you sing "Life with You" and dip the mike towards a woman and little girl, I like to think that is your wife and child. Tell me, true? That and 500 miles are wonderfully romantic songs. I can't sit still when all of you sing "Ireland's Call".

Thank you for so much entertainment! Roberta G

Loses

Hi George,
Sorry for your loses, I lost my father a year ago next month ... it was unexpected at the time and I never stop thinking of him. A short time after my dad passed my sister sent me the old man video, I could not stop watching it and eventually made some itunes purchases. My 7 year old listensen to the song frequently as well, it is an amazing song made more amazing by your performance. My dad and I loved to outdoors and I took my ipod one day out to the bush found a high hilltop overlooking a lake and sat and listened over and over. I have been watching for a performance in my area and on September 24th you will be performing at Casino Ramma, that is almost a year to the day thet my dad passed and I have tickets to your show, I must check the age limit and times but I may be bringing my son with me. Please please do your best to fit "The Old Man" into your show.
David and Zachary Mitchell

How is your daughter doing

How is your daughter doing with the losses? Children grieve differently from adults, and it's sometimes harder for them to put their feelings into words. Having worked with grieving children and their families, I know how hard the process can be. God bless.

Sharon

Sorry for your loss, but kudos on keeping going

Hi George. I am new at this blogging stuff, but I really wanted to say I'm so sorry for your losses this year. You're right it's never easy losing people you love especially family. However, I do know that most people would want their loved ones to keep going and remember the life they had and the fun and love they shared with you. The good memories will get you through. Celebrate the lives they lived. I believe that is what all parents would like for their children to do once they're gone. That's what I wish for my son. Celebrate their life, remember the good memories, and talk about them to other people. Everyone is different so it may not help you, but that helped me. Honor their memory and love.I'm only 43, but I told my son (he's 19 and no father around) when I go he better celebrate my life with a party. It was just my time to go home to the Lord. Smile Wink

I'm so happy that, eventhough, the heart is sore and probably didn't really feel like celebrating that you and your family still went on vacation/holiday Smile. With your busy schedule, I do hope you and your beautiful family got much needed rest, and savored the time together. My prayers and love are with you and your family. You are such a humble and sweet person. I hope that the blessings just come your way.

I will see you in San Francisco in October. Well, at least I will see you perform. Still working on the Meet and Mingle tickets. I did buy my tickets through PBS/KQED so here's hoping I get Meet and Mingle tickets. That would be a blessing for sure. Ok, for me, that would be a blessing, but I'm so much fun you may be blessed too. Smile LOL! Smile

I hope you and your family are doing better, and the rest of the year is happier for you.
Take care,
Lea Smile

losing family

it's always hard to lose your parents. Last year was a rough one for my family - my 36-yr old son had a heart attack, had triple bypass in March, my Dad passed in August, then my husband of 40 years passed in August. You'll have bad days, but the good memories will sustain you.
Best wishes

Life Changes

We have a lot in common, George. I learned to play the flute in school, but haven't touched it in decades. It's tarnished now. I learned to play the piano, but rarely have time to play now. I just keep dusting it off. I spent three years learning German in high school, but rarely use the language here in the U.S. I've been through so many life changes as the years speed by. My most life changing year was from 2001 to 2002 when I lost my mother, my dog, my horse, my job, and was shaken by the events of 9/11. It was a year I will never forget, but I feel that I have finally recovered with the help of my friends and the music I listen to. Celtic Thunder has really made a difference in my life, so I tell all my friends about your group. I love the manly songs you sing and enjoy listening to all the CT CDs all the time. I have been showing the CT DVDs to all my friends and family as much as I can. You have uplifted my life, so I sincerely hope that all your family, friends and fans can uplift your life. Wishing you all the best!

-- Ellen from Michigan

Mom & Dad

chattin

Hey George I love the songs that you sing. Exspecially "Voyage" and "My Life" my husband and I are happily married and have been through alot together over the years. We have a son and daughter, both married. And we have 2 grandchildren. I love it that there are songs about true love and committment sung by someone who obviously knows what that means. Love the whole CT group you all have wonderfull voices, and expression when you sing. You are not just singers but true entertainers. You have great showmanship and it is obvious you all get along well. Clean cut nice looking group of men with a great since of humor. And your voices blended are awesome. I believe you are 42. I am 48 and my husband 51, we've been married for 31yrs. Seems strange your six years younger than me and have 2 young daughters and we have 2 grandsons 3 and 6yrs old. Raising children is a challanging and wonderfull experience, love being grandparents though it is great! So sorry about your mom an your wife's dad. Yes they would want you to carry on. We will be praying for you all. See you in Oct. in St. Louis, Lord willing. Can't wait for your CD next year. You and yours have a wonderfull day. Dena

Edinburgh Comedy Festival

Hello,
I was listening to the radio this morning. There is a comedy/talk show every weekday morning. It's called Bob and Tom in the morning. It's pretty much nationwide. On Tuesday's show, they were mentioning the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. I was wondering if you've ever been? Comic's from everywhere, are invited to this. There is a very funny man named, Costaki Economopoulos, (long name) who was on the show, he and his family will be coming to Scotland for three weeks. I can't imagine, the festival lasting that long. Anyway, this guy is very funny, and from what I can tell, isn't dirty or vulgar. Still not for a child. I would go see him, if he came to Nashville. Because he is originally, not from the USA, he makes some very clever and funny observations about Americans! Just thought I'd drop you a note about it! Nancy K.

Indianapolis Concert

First let me add my prayers for your losses. 2 years ago between my wife's family and mine we lost 5 close family members, so I understand your grief.
On a happier note, we just bought our tickets for CT's Indianapolis,In concert in October. Not only our we excited but 3 of our grandsons (4,6,Cool are coming we us. The lads love CT! We have to play the cd's in the car over and over, not that we mind. They can even sing the gaelic words! They have been listening and watching thew dvd since we got our first one 2 yrs. ago. We have tickets in the orchestra section so they can see really well. By the way the also have picked which member of the group they are...and of course I'm you because my voice is most like yours. (Thought that was nicer than because I am the oldest...haha).
Don't know if it can happen but they would love a chance to meet all of you. I'm trying to find passes to the mett & greet. Good luck with the solo album and piano work (learning the pipes myself). Wir haben so fiele spass! May God haol you in his hands and cause his face to shine upon you and yours. See you in October

Hey

Hey George it's nice to hear from you.

Ich HeiBe Caitlyn. Ich bin 14. Ich mache Irisch Tanzen. Hahaha you get my point. I would love to help you with your German! But sadly we are on different sides of the world. I on the other hand am going into German II sooo we could learn together! I'm glad to hear your family is great and copping with the lose of your loved ones. You are and still are in my prayers.

I hope you guys are enjoying your Summer and can't wait to hear from you again.

Caitlyn

Prayers

My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. It must be hard to keep your spirits up at times. I thank the Good Lord every day for the lives and health of my parents and can't imagine my life without them. I hope you and your family's hearts and souls heal soon.

Parents

George it is never easy to loose a parent and no matter how much time elapses you will still miss them. You never know when something will trigger your memory and cause you miss them dearly all over again. Time does erase most of the sad memories and leaves you with the very best to enjoy forever. Talk about them and keep their memory alive especially for Sarah as I'm sure there are many things about her grandparents that she doesn't know. This is part of her family history and the best way for her to learn about it.
My advice is to live each day like it is your last. Spend as much time as you can with those you hold dear and tell them and show them how much you love them. There are many things that have a place in our lives but what is most important are the ones we love.
Enjoy what is left of the summer before touring starts again and may God continue to watch over and bless you and your family.

Rosemary

When I see you guys in Atlanta hope to meet you in person

hey George

I know what your Family is going through. Continue doing your singing. I lost my sister on May 1st due to a car reck she had three of her grandchildren with her. The two youngest children were alright. The oldest came with a broke neck and collar bone. Everybody tells me god came down and put his arms around the kids to keep them safe and he took my sister. She was on her way up from Florida to see my son get married. She would have made it if it wasn't for the man that hit her. She only had two more exits to go and she would have made it. The man that hit her was DUI and on drugs. The accident happened about 1:10pm my sons wedding was at 2 pm. I didn't find out until after 4pm that day. I have my good days. I can not get over her death. Eye wittnes said she was alive during the whole tumbling act of the truck when EMT got there she was pronouncec dead at the scene. I was waiting for my sister hug and I did not get it. I just wanted you to know it will get easier and your Mum will always be in your heart. In my case my sister was the only one I could talk to and now I have no one
May god bless you and your family and I will keep you in my prays. If you can please write back my email address is benjidrm@yahoo.com if you can't I will understand that you are busy. Hope to see you in Atlanta If I can get the money for the ticket. I lost my job on count of the accident. I do know I want to do something in honor of my sister
Thanks reading this if you do

Fall update

Hi George -

Can't wait to see you and the guys this fall in Baltimore. I, too, have an island in my vacation plans - Ireland with the New Barleycorn. Can't wait! The the cruise in Jan - wish you were back this year. Keith and Damian will have to keep us entertained. Love to your girls!

Your cruising friend....shirley

I am thankful, George, that

I am thankful, George, that both your mom and Carolyn's dad lived to enjoy your successes with CT and that Sarah had her wonderful grandparents for her early years. Remember that her year is a vastly longer period of time than for us. They will each live on in her memory for all of her days. I am glad to hear of a future George Album. I want to hear all of the songs you perform in Jinty's and lots of other stuff, too. Have you any "Sarah Songs"? I'll bet you do and hope you will share those in a form that they will be listened to by your future great grandchildren. Thanks for sharing so much of your life with us. I know that is hard to do in today's world. It is appreciated more than you know.
Perhaps one day, Sarah will compose a piece for her violin for each her grandparents. I share a tiny wee bit of your and Carloyn's pride in her in this area. It's an Auburn/red haired thing - I am Scots Irish on my fathers side, possibly my mother's, too. I look forward to seeing you ( and hopefully, Sarah and Carolyn), in Atlanta, Ga and Pensacola, Clearwater and Melbourne, Fl. Delayed yearly Spring/late Summer beach trips and saved up for a CT/beach vacation in November instead - the best combination ever. Praying that the beaches here will heal and not be a threat to us all by then. No fresh seafood, but the best pizzas ever!
(signed: Sender of Sarah's ribbons and hairbows and jeans that I fear don't fit. But am sure the warm hat did!)

George's Blog

Hi George, I just want to say thank you for bloging for us. I really lookforward to hearing from all of the lads. I'm happy for you that you have been able to spend so much time with your wife and daughter. I wil look forward to getting your cd that you will be making next year. I've enjoyed watching you and listening to you on the different cds. Thanks again for bloging for us. Take care and God Bless. With love and prayers, Bill from Gary, Indiana

Wonderful Voice!

George,
Gosh, It must be hard for Carrie to now, have to share you with the whole world!! I bet she had no idea, her husband had such sex appeal!! I love, love your voice. I could listen to the "Voyage" over and over again. Also, because I'm not a NUN, I love watching you sing "My life with you". Looking forward to your future solo CD. Nancy

Year of change

Hello Again! (You are wonderful on that track by the way...)

I just wanted to send my sincere sympathy to you and Carrie. My mother just passed too so I do know how sadly surreal of a time this is for you. Not sure what your beliefs are but I believe our loved ones pass on to a better world when they leave this one and that we will see them again. Have you heard Mirah Carey and Boys 2 Men sing "One Sweet Day"? It helps me get through and so I thought you might want to google it or Yahoo it or YouTube it.

Travel safely and see you in Atlanta...if the tickets ever go on sale!!!,
Vegan2day

HI George

Thank you for the update! I am glad that things are getting somewhat back to normal for you and your family. Sounds like you and your family have been able to get some time to recover and heal after your loss. Just remember it takes time and your right all you can do is learn to live with the loss and without them. I know from experience.

Good to see that you are getting to some of the places you wanted to visit, some of the islands. Sounds like this new Island is going to be an adventure for you as far as travel is concerned. I hope you have fun. See you in October in Minneapolis. I get to see you with my family at the early show and then with my friend at the late show. I am so excited!!

It's good to hear from you,

It's good to hear from you, George! Glad you and the family are getting back to normal as much as possible. Looks like you are enjoying visiting islands this year. As you know, I am a fan of islands myself! Currently having a delightful summer on Little Cranberry. Have a wonderful time on Barra and enjoy the rest of your time off with the girls. Looking forward to seeing you on the Fall Tour.
Rock On!
Jeanne

Thanks

Thanks for the blog George. You are seriously the best for sharing so much of yourself with us fans. My heart breaks for you as I also live without my parents and my father-in-law. Your beautiful voice singing The Old Man was played A LOT 2 years ago when my dad passed. Well off the sad and onto the fun. Enjoy your trip to the Isle of Barra and I would like to extend my tour guiding talents to you if you ever choose to visit the Island that I live on (that would be Long Island, LOL). I have fond memories of meeting you here after the opening night of Take Me Home last year. You were kind as can be and I have a great pic of the two of us to remember that show. Safe travels George and I will see you October 1st at Radio City, woo hoo. <3 Marianne

Summer's end

Thank you so much, George, for taking the time to communicate with your fans. I again extend my condolences to you and your family for your very sad year. I know that you will always miss your Mum and Dad, but the way you and your siblings live allow them to live on. Looking forward to seeing all of you in North America this fall. Safe travels to Barra and enjoy some nice quiet "island time" there.

Condolences

Sorry for your loss

Hey, First I just wanted to say that I am sorry about your Mom... I too lost one of my parents, My Dad died on Valentines Day this year. It was so sad and unexpected... he was only 52. I just wanted to say that I somewhat understand... It feels so weird...like hes gonna walk through the door at anytime but then he doesnt.. I just wish I could have spent more time with him. (im 17) I just cant help thinking of all the things we wont get to do together... Anytime I miss him I play the song you sang 'The Old Man' and think about him and the times we had together,It always makes me feel a little better because I dont feel so alone...but anyways... I hope you have lovely memories of your Mom and I just know she must have been so proud of you. You are an amazing singer and role model. Thank you for everything you do! Smile
I also wanted to say that I too look forward to your solo album and seeing you guys in St.Louis! Haha I'll be the one screaming the loudest Wink
Best Wishes,
~Kristy~

Thanks for the update

Hi George, I was really sorry to hear of the passing of family members. I lost my Dad to cancer in 2006 after having taken care of him for 4 years. My Mom died of cancer in 1996 so I had gotten really close to my Dad. I was really in a bad place in 2007 when I saw Celtic Thunder for the first time on PBS. Your song "The Old Man" really spoke to my heart. I have to say that all of CT's music and the concerts have really healed my heart. I really look forward to you being able to do a CD. I have tickets for 3 concerts this fall, two with meet and greets. I still haven't met you or Damian so I'm hoping that happens. I have meet and greets in Chicago, IL and Durham, NC. I will be at the Fox Theater in Atlanta in the pit area, but couldn't get meet and greet tickets for that. I really love that old Theater! I'm looking forward to the fall and wish you all the best until then.

Kathleen

Thanks for the update

Thanks for the update George.
Life is such a precious gift and you are blessed to have so many loving people around you.
Enjoy your time with your family and friends.
We can't wait to see you and the rest of the group in the fall.
Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer.
Have fun!!

George solo Cd

I would really enjoy hearing a George solo cd. I Love Celtic Thunder but each of you are solo artists in your own right. Hope I can pick up your show in the fall, I am hoping for Spokane. Best of success in the fall tour.
